AppleCore Foods celebrates cheese with clients and ITS students in a series of educational-networking events
French Cheeses were the theme of a series of events organized by AppleCore Foods Ltd., named ‘Vive le Fromage!’, showcasing a number of cheeses such as Bresse Bleu, Rambol, Roquefort Papillon, Le Rustique, Tartare and Chavroux.
Starting off with a French Cheese evening at Paranga Beach Club; clients and the press were treated to a cheese-focused evening complemented by wine from Emmanuel Delicata Winemaker, and a range of cheese delicacies, prepared by Intercontinental Malta’s Executive Chef, Paul Borg; to the tunes of Édith Piaf and Django Reinhardt in the background.
Gastronomic dishes served on the night included Le Rustique Camembert and vegetable terrine with celery and apple chutney; Coeur de Lion Brie with candied walnuts and orange powder; Bouchon Buche rolled in fine herbs with tomato and basil salsa, Textures of Papillon Roquefort, Tartare Aperifrais and mushroom pinwheels, Almond and Chaumes Bavaroise with amaretto shot, amongst others.
Also present on the night was Mr. Felicien Baty, a French Cheese expert from Bongrain, suppliers of a range of cheeses locally marketed by AppleCore Foods. Ms. Antoinette Stellini, Director of Sales of AppleCore Foods welcomed clients and introduced Mr. Baty, with the latter explaining the cheeses served on the night.
On Tuesday 23rd April, at the Institute of Tourism Studies in St. Julian’s, Mr. Baty delivered 2 back-to-back seminars to a number of ITS Students and cheese-clients enthusiasts and deli-counter assistants, aimed at enriching the respect and perpetuate the great traditions of French cheeses.
