New premises include 1500 sq.m of ambient, chilled and frozen storage facilities
The new AppleCore Foods warehouse, temperature-controlled facilities & offices were officially inaugurated during an End of Season Partners’ Event that was held on Monday 30th September 2013.
The Hon. Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business; Dr. Chris Cardona MP; presided over the inauguration of the new premises at Hardrocks Business Park in Naxxar.
During his speech, Minister Cardona stated that the Government recognises that small businesses are a crucial part of the Maltese economy and companies like AppleCore Foods are protagonists in the Government’s mission to achieve economic growth. AppleCore Foods Ltd’s success, continued Minister Cardona; also lies in the fact that its founders have recognized the potential of financing schemes, such as those being strengthened, supported and extended by the Government, including the Jeremie Scheme.
The event was also attended by His Excellency Mr. Jim Hennessy, Ambassador of Ireland, who launched the event with an opening speech. His Excellency congratulated AppleCore Foods on its success and thanked them for promoting and distributing Irish food products in Malta.
The Irish Food Marketing Board also supported the event. The event also featured a charcuterie stand by Beretta, various cheeses by Windyridge and Parmareggio, Fries by Lamb Weston, Premium Spanish Olive Oil by La Rambla, Coffee by Douwe Egberts; as well as a range of Sicilian wines by Avide.
Apart from importing, selling and distributing food and food-related products, AppleCore Foods also offer third party storage space in temperature controlled and ambient facilities. Today the company employs 32 people on full time basis.Invitees at the End of Season Partners’ Event included people from the Food and Hospitality trade, retail and catering. A number of foreign suppliers flew in to Malta purposely for this event.
