AppleCore Foods Wins for Malta in Prestigious Awards competition

AppleCore Foods has today been named as a National Champion in The European Business Awards sponsored by RSM International; a prestigious competition supported by businesses leaders, academics, media and political representatives from across Europe.

The European Business Awards now in its 8th consecutive year, engages with over 24,000 business from 33 European countries and 709 companies from across Europe.

AppleCore Foods is a Maltese importer and distributer of premium food and beverage brands such as Arla Foods, Lurpak, Douwe Egberts, Lambweston, Beretta, Parmareggio and San Carlo to name a few.

A panel of judges made up of Europe-wide business leaders, academics and entrepreneurs will view the National Champions’ videos, and award the best of this group the coveted ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ status. Ruban d’Honneur recipients will then go on to the grand final in 2015. All of the National Champions will also take part in a public vote to decide ‘Public Champions’ for each country. Last year over 93,000 votes were cast, and over 400,000 people visited the EBA website during the competition.

AppleCore Foods wows clients with its End-of-Season Event

A gastronomic and networking feast in the name of good food!

AppleCore Foods Ltd, a leading importer and distributor of prominent brands in Malta, recently hosted yet another talk-of-the-town, end-of-summer bash for local food retailers as well as clients in the Hospitality and Restaurants business.

The gastronomic feast, which has now become an iconic yearly event for the     AppleCore Foods clientele, was held at the company’s premises at Hardrocks Business Park in Naxxar, where around 450 guests were treated to a truly spectacular evening of delicious food and wine tasting.

Commenting on the initiative, Antoinette Stellini, Director of Sales at AppleCore Foods said: “This End of Season Partners’ Event is now in its second year and this is our way of thanking our clients, as well as to have them over at our premises for a relaxed networking evening”.

Guests were served with a selection of charcuterie from Salumi Beretta, as well as cheeses from Parmareggio and Windyridge. To the tunes of Ben Purple, guests also enjoyed infused olive oils from La Rambla and a selection of meat from Slaney Foods, complemented by Lamb Weston fries. Douwe Egberts coffee and Pickwick teas rounded up the night, and guests left with a packet of San Carlo on their return home.

AppleCore Foods receives ISO 9001:2008 certification

Food Importer audited and confirmed by the European Certification Institute

The management system of AppleCore Foods Ltd, a leading local importer and distributor of prominent food and beverage brands, was independently audited and now confirmed by the European Certification Institute as being in conformity with ISO 9001:2008 standard in its sales and warehousing processes, and in the distribution of food products.

The ISO 9000 certifications address various aspects of quality management and contain some of ISO’s best-known standards, which provide guidance and tools for companies that want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. AppleCore Foods were assisted by Ing. James Sammut from Tuning Fork Ltd in the attainment of such certification.

“AppleCore Foods Ltd. went through a rigorous testing process in all areas of operation until the ISO 9001:2008 certification was finally issued. Although this is not mandatory to conduct business, we strove to acquire this certification to assure our clientele of the standards that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of company operations”, explained Mr. Martin Gatt, Director of Operations and Logistics. “We are certain that the ISO certification will give us an edge in the local food and beverage market, as clients today expect a level of service that meets international standards”.

ISO International Standards ensure that products and services are safe, reliable and of good quality.
