A group of Maltese chefs left Malta for a familiarisation visit at the Menù and Canuti production facilities in Italy. The Maltese delegation is led by Pierre Mattocks, CEO at AppleCore Foods and Antoinette Stellini, Applecore Foods’ Director of Sales.

The primary aim of this visit is to help the Maltese chefs get a more in depth knowledge of over 450 products that are produced within the Menù production facility in Barbieri in Cavezzo (province of Modena). This state-of-the-art facility covers over 30,000 square metres, and the Maltese chefs are also being given demonstrations on how to prepare impressive dishes using the Menù products. The visit is being hosted by Menu’s Commercial Director, Export Director and Export Manager.

Menù started off as salami producers in the 1930s but since then the company developed a wide range of products that are now used in restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, sandwich shops, and similar establishments worldwide.

The group’s next stop was at Canuti’s production facility in Rimini where the company has been producing top quality pasta products since the 1950s. The group of Maltese chefs were first taken on a tour around the pasta factory which was followed by a detailed presentation on Canuti’s flagship products, including some mouth-watering recipes.
