Company demonstrates its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts with year long programme in aid of Homeless Shelter
The team at AppleCore Foods Ltd. is celebrating the Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Day, held annually on March 19th.
Today, AppleCore Foods has launched its brand new CSR identity, CORE-porate Care, and a programme of events held in aid of YMCA Homeless Shelter, Valletta.
During a press conference held today at the YMCA Offices in Valletta, Antoinette Stellini, Director of Sales of AppleCore Foods said: “We are proud to launch our new programme in aid of those in need. We have visited the homeless shelter a few weeks ago, and felt it is our corporate responsibility to not only show that we care, but also to contribute towards providing a better environment for the residents. We shall be starting off by preparing a meal for the residents tomorrow, March 19th, as well as having quarterly events, by assisting the YMCA staff in the new homeless shelter in Msida. Such events also serve as team-building events for our team, by exposing the needs of society at large”.
Mr. Tom Cusens, YMCA’s Board Member, and Mr. Anthony Camilleri, Shelter Administrator commented: “We thank AppleCore Foods for this initiative, which is very much appreciated. The work of YMCA goes on for those in need, and we are looking forward to move to the new shelter in Msida shortly, where we will be able to take care of our residents, which currently include 20-25 residents. The residents are looking forward to tomorrow’s event, also in view of the fact that food being a basic necessity is regarded as a survival need”.
Sporting CORE-porate Care t-shirts, the AppleCore Foods team will be preparing lunch for the residents consisting of an antipasto, first and main course, concluding with delicious dessert to finish off a pampering lunch for the YMCA residents..
