AppleCore Foods organized a Facility Visit to Douwe Egbert’s plant in Amsterdam and De Joure on Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th June, 2013.

The visit included a tour of business segments and business trends. On the second day, guests spent a day at Joure, a town in the Dutch province of Friesland, where the Douwe Egberts facility is located. Guests visited the Museum Joure, a bustling museum with industrial and artisan products from the late 19th century where coffee roaster Douwe Egberts had once settled.

Guests spent the rest of the day in the Douwe Egberts Cafitesse Academy training center, and lectures included ‘From bean to Cafitesse’, and ‘a Coffee roasting workshop’, both by Roland Brouwer; as well as a Guided Cafitesse Factory Tour, by Marga de Ruygt.

Apple Core Foods exclusively markets Douwe Egberts and the latter’s coffee systems in Malta. In fact, Douwe Egberts is a specialist in developing coffee systems for out-of-home use.

Commenting, Ms. Antoinette Stellini said: “It was our pleasure to host some of our esteemed clients in Amsterdam. We are proud to represent Douwe Egberts in Malta. Furthermore, we embrace the brand’s principal aim to promote coffee with flavour and aroma. Coffee is a natural product, and given that the quality of the harvest is unstable, and the fact that the recipes for blends must be regularly adjusted; it goes without saying that the preparation of a blend is a work of art.”
